Jamil A. Favors
Founder & Principal Trial AttorneyExperience from every side of the problem.
Jamil Favors has built his career handling complex problems in courtrooms, government, and business. He practiced at a major international law firm, served as a federal judicial law clerk, and spent years as a federal prosecutor — investigating and trying serious federal cases and arguing before the United States Court of Appeals.
Before becoming a lawyer, Jamil worked as an accountant, an experience that continues to shape the way he analyzes financial records, business disputes, fraud allegations, and the economic realities behind a case.
A trial lawyer focused on people.
Throughout his career, Jamil has learned that the hardest legal problems are rarely just legal problems. Behind every criminal charge, business dispute, or civil lawsuit is a person, family, or organization trying to understand what happened, what comes next, and who they can trust to guide them through it.
That perspective shapes his approach to practicing law: understand the client, explain the problem clearly, develop a strategy, and prepare relentlessly for whatever comes next.
Why The Favors Firm.
Jamil founded The Favors Firm to provide the kind of representation he believes clients deserve when the stakes are high: direct access to their lawyer, honest advice even when it is difficult to hear, and an advocate prepared to fight when fighting is necessary.
The firm's philosophy is reflected in three commitments: Communication. Justice. Results.
“I started this firm to give people and businesses the kind of lawyer I would want standing beside my own family when everything is on the line.”
